Description

Engineered for Better Performance

Hard water can contribute to scale buildup that impacts RV plumbing, fixtures and appliances, as well as overall water taste and feel. The Water Softener with SMART CAP features a 10,000-grain resin capacity that lasts 7-10 years and is engineered to help reduce calcium, magnesium, iron, lead, radium, and other metals for more consistent water performance throughout the RV.

Its high-flow design helps maintain stronger shower and faucet performance while producing up to 1,000+ gallons of softened water per recharge depending on usage and source water conditions.

Traditional RV water softener systems often require disconnecting hoses, removing caps, and repositioning the unit during regeneration and maintenance. The SMART CAP™ on our water softener is engineered to simplify that process while producing up to 1,000+ gallons of softened water per recharge* and providing a seamless integration into the Blu Technology™ Quick Connect ecosystem.

Features & Benefits

  • Built using materials that are NSF-certified for drinking water safety
  • SMART CAP and external drain line simplify regeneration and backflushing
  • 10,000 grain resin reduces calcium, magnesium, iron, lead, radium, and other metals
  • High-flow design helps maintain more consistent shower and faucet performance throughout the RV
  • Regenerates using standard table salt
  • Stainless steel tank and fittings designed for durability and corrosion resistance
  • 50% less weight and cubic inches than other softeners

Simplified RV Water Softener Maintenance

Typically RV water softener system maintenance means shutting off the water supply, disconnecting hoses, removing the cap, repositioning the unit for draining or backflushing, and reconnecting everything once complete. That process can become messy and inconvenient, especially when the softener is installed in tighter RV storage or utility areas.

With SMART CAP technology on board, you simply turn the integrated dial to the desired setting to complete each process. The Blu Technology Water Softener with SMART CAP’s external drain line further streamlines maintenance by allowing regeneration and backflushing to happen while the system remains fully connected.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What do Blu Technology water softeners do?

Blu Technology water softeners are designed to reduce hard water minerals like calcium and magnesium that can cause scale build-up, spotting, and damage inside RV plumbing systems and appliances.

What PSI is recommended for water softeners?

Blu Technology recommends operating a water softener at 60 PSI or below.

Is a water softener safe for drinking water systems?

Yes. Our unit is designed using drinking-water safe materials intended for RV water systems.

How often should I regenerate a water softener?

Blu Technology recommends regenerating approximately every 1,000 gallons of use or about once per month under average conditions. However, the time between regeneration will depend on the source water hardness as well as water usage, and may fluctuate.

How do I know when a softener needs regeneration?

Common indicators include hard water spots, reduced softening performance, or elevated hardness readings when using test strips.

What type of salt should I use during regeneration?

Use standard table salt, either iodized or non-iodized, during the regeneration process.

Can a Blu Technology water softener be used on its side?

No. While the water softener can be transported or stored horizontally, it should always be operated in the upright position. Operating the softener on its side can affect the internal resin bed and overall performance.
