Reverse osmosis essentially will remove everything from the water, contaminants, sediment, as well as vitamins and minerals. A reverse osmosis system may not be the best fit for your case though due to having to keep the RO system inside and usually as a point of use system due to the lowered flow rate. With RO, you will also create "wastewater" that you will have to dispose of as well that could be a hassle.
With our filtration system and softener, they can be placed in a wet bay, or outside of the RV and can be used to filter all the water going into your RV (point of entry).
Our filtration systems would differ from reverse osmosis systems as reverse osmosis systems essentially remove all dissolved solids from the water you are filtering. Our filtration systems do not filter down to this level, as they will leave the dissolved solids in the water. Dissolved solids refers to the combined content of all inorganic and organic substances dissolved in water, including minerals, salts, metals, and organic matter.
Our filtration systems will come included with our standard filter set which filters down to a 0.2 micron, and if you choose to upgrade to our NSF certified and third party tested filters, the OFFGRID filters, the electro-adhesive coating on the OFFGRID 0.2 will allow the filter to filter down contaminants below 0.2 microns, essentially to 0.02 micron which is virus level (I will share testing results below). Our filters will keep dissolved solids like minerals and vitamins in the water though, so there is a taste difference between water filtered through our system with vitamins and minerals, compared to reverse osmosis water with none of this. This also means our filtrations systems do not remove hardness causing minerals like calcium, and a water softener would be needed (Included in full bundle). With a water softener in addition, you would be removing the hardness causing minerals like calcium and magnesium too.
