The backflow preventer helps stop contaminated water from flowing backward from the black tank flush system into the freshwater supply.

When flushing my black tank, do I still have access to fresh water in my RV?

Yes. The Black Tank Flush Kit is designed so you can still use fresh water inside your RV while flushing the black tank. However, if no faucets or appliances are running, then 100% of the water flow is automatically directed toward the black tank.
