Description

Blu Technology premium water filtration systems, hoses and accessories provide safer water from any campground water source to your RV. But in general, water filtration systems won’t adequately perform if your RV plumbing system or holding tanks are contaminated in any way.

BLU BLEACHFREE™ helps to ensure you aren’t putting filtered water through an unsafe plumbing system or into a contaminated tank thus defeating the purpose of filtering your water. It is a sanitizerconcentrate that is both EPA-approved and NSF-certified safe to sanitize your plumbing system, tanks and softener.

Using BLU BLEACHFREE
Fresh water holding tanks can vary in size. The amount of BLU BLEACHFREE needed to fully sanitize them will vary.

Each pack contains two 0.5 fl. oz. packets of the sanitizer.

Each individual 0.5 fl. oz. packet can sanitize up to 20 gallons of water. One pack of two will sanitize up to 40 gallons of water.

  • Sanitize up to 40 gallons of water
  • NSF-certified safe, no health hazard
  • EPA-approved when used as directed
  • Protects your RV plumbing from bleach corrosion, build-up and degradation
  • Use on average every 3-4 months

Cleaning your system and tanks with bleach poses these risks:

  • Corrosion – Bleach can be corrosive to certain types of metal pipes, fittings, fixtures and tanks potentially leading
to leaks, structural issues and other damage.
  • Degradation of PEX Material – PEX pipes and fittings are sensitive to certain chemicals, including bleach, which can cause them to degrade over time. This can result in leaks, breaks, or other malfunctions in the plumbing system.
  • Residue Build-Up – Bleach can leave behind a residue in the tank, which can build up over time and affect the quality of the water or other liquids stored in the tank. This residue can also be difficult to remove and may require additional cleaning and maintenance to prevent contamination.
  • Health Risks – Bleach is a strong chemical that can be harmful if ingested or inhaled. If bleach is used improperly in a PEX plumbing system or tank, there is a risk of the chemical contaminating the water supply and posing a health hazard.
  • Environmental Impact – If bleach is used in a PEX plumbing system and then enters the environment through wastewater, it can have negative effects on the environment. Strict disposal guidelines need to be followed.

*It is important to use caution and follow manufacturerrecommendations when using chemicals in a plumbing system to minimize these risks.
